The Sunday List #46
Featuring some gorgeous brown barrel trousers, a dress that could have come straight from the Chloe catwalk (but for a fraction of the price) and a field/barn jacket of dreams.
I’ve had lots of new paid subscribers this week who get all three of my chosen items and the 3 ways to wear each piece (free subscribers get the first one)
Even though the weather is still lovely and i’m still enjoying wearing all my summer pieces, I’m getting really inspired by the new Autumn collections that are dropping. I’ll be doing an A/W 24 trends post for paid subscribers next week where I’ll also be discussing how you can utilise pieces from past seasons to make sure you’re getting the most out of your wardrobe.
I went to see Taylor Swift on Thursday night and I’ve never seen so many sequins in one place. My husband said it looks like a massive hen do!!! But it got me thinking about whether these items are just going to be thrown away and added to landfill and it was a worrying thought.
I wore an old sequin jumpsuit from Jigsaw that is part of my forever wardrobe and my daughters wore everything that they bought off Vinted. Plus I know a lot of people rented their outfits or bought things preloved which is a great way of doing it.
However, the sheer amount of sequins worn at just one Taylor Swift show did make me think about the millions of plastic sequins that are made each year. It got me researching sustainable options and I came across Radiant Matter who have created BioSequins which are made from renewable cellulose, are non-toxic, colourfast and pigment free. Stella McCartney used BioSequins to create an all-in-one, worn by eco-activist Cara Delevigne and photographed by the legendary Annie Leibovitz.
So there’s hope that the future holds a more eco-friendly alternative and we’ll still be about to sparkle when we want to!
Anyway, back to todays post and my three items that I have found this week

First up are these amazing brown barrel leg cotton trousers. Brown is such a great colour for Autumn and this lovely dark hue is perfect. I’ll be wearing with flat ballet pumps or loafers but they would also work with heels for a night out. So versatile and such a cool shape.
