The Sunday List #42
It's all about Summer today with 3 great maxi dress recommendations for holiday and beyond.
I love a maxi dress. And I love a summer dress. It’s when I like to experiment with a bit of colour and pattern again. Not sure why, it’s just the time of year for a bit of fun I suppose. Well it is in my head anyway!
As you know my approach to buying clothes is all about buying for a forever wardrobe. So, in that vain I advise you don’t buy things just for your holiday wardrobe. You won’t get the wear out of it and you won’t feel like you on holiday. Instead invest in those pieces that you know you can wear again. A dress that works with other pieces in your wardrobe. Perhaps you can add a blazer or a sweatshirt when it’s a bit cooler or wear to work after the holidays are over.
The most important thing to think about when buying something new is…
Does it fit your personal style & lifestyle?
Can you wear it multiple ways with other pieces in your wardrobe?
Does it have longevity?
If the answer is YES, to all these questions, then it should be a good purchase.
The three dresses I’ve found below are items I feel would be timeless and versatile. And it doesn’t have to be neutrals or plain patterns either.

This red dress is so elegant and so simple. But the gorgeous red colour makes it contemporary and fun. I feel in neutral colour it wouldn’t have the same impact. It could easily be dressed up for an evening out, or wear with a cardigan and chunky sandals for a day trip.
