This week has been freezing and even though it’s been really sunny and beautiful blue skies (where I am anyway), it’s been bitterly cold and even just walking from the house to the office at the bottom of the garden has been horrible! The dog walk has consisted of lots of thermal wear, gloves, hats and neck warmers and it’s been a very brisk walk to say the least.

So, I have been looking at all things to keep us snuggly and warm this week and I’ve focused on 4 categories: Thermals, padded coats, hats/gloves/scarves and layering pieces. Each category has 5 items in it.

Let’s stay cosy!

THERMALS

#1

Uniqlo is my favourite when it comes to thermals and I really love this fine stripe turtleneck top for £19.90 as well as the classics like their long sleeve thermal tops that come in 7 colours for £14.90 and their thermal tights and leggings, £19.90 that ensure those legs are kept ultra warm.

#2

This 2 pack of Heatgen thermal long sleeve tops from M&S are so good. They are super light and easy to wear and comes in 5 different colour ways. £25

M&S also do this great stripy Breton Heatgen top for £16. Perfect for keeping warm while looking uber chic.

#3

These Fusalp thermal base layer leggings are seamless and streamlined and made from a high performance jersey blended with a touch of cashmere. They are a skiwear brand, but these leggings are perfect on or off the slopes. £95

#4

I love the idea of an all-in-one thermal layer. Great for under dresses and skirts. Or just for cosying up at home under a blanket. This one is £32 from M&S with sizes from 6-22.

#5

One of my go to’s for inexpensive thermal pieces is H&M. They do a range called Thermolite which includes tops, leggings, jackets, sweatshirts and even boots! I really love these vests which are perfect for layering under everything from tees, shirts and dresses. £14.99

PUFFER COATS

#1

I had my Arket long puffer coat for years before I finally had to say goodbye after I ripped it to threads on a thorn bush while out with the dog. Made from feather and down, these keep you seriously warm and have a two way zip for ease of movement and a detachable hood. £249

#2

I think you all know how much of a fan I am of Raey mainly due to their oversized silhouettes and gorgeous fabrication. This puffer jacket is a beauty. The technical shell gives exceptional warmth and it just looks really cool. £895

#3

If you want complete coverage, then this Superdry longline gadded coat is super cool. Made from 100% recycled materials this coat will keep you seriously warm. £164.99

#4

This puffer jacket caught my eye for it’s thermal properties but also water-repellency. I tend to wear my padded coats out on dog walks when it’s really cold, and when you get caught in the rain, it’s a bonus to wear something that will keep you dry. £79.99

#5

Ganni has been producing really great puffer jackets for years. In fact I bought one years ago and my daughter has now stolen it. (To be fair, it does look good on her!) The Outnet have a really good range of Ganni coats with big discounts. This green one is half price. £198
