I haven’t had any reader style dilemmas or questions to answer so I thought i’d do a post all about style and how to find our own version of it.
Do we feel some people are just born with an innate flair for fashion? Or can it be learnt? Is it about confidence and wearing what you want? Or is it about re-interpreting something you’ve seen on someone else or the catwalk shows?
We all know style is subjective right? Something that I love might be the epitome of bad taste for someone else. Not everyone will love the same thing. We gravitate towards people that either have the same style as us, or have something that we want within ourselves.
For example, one of my favourite people to follow is Leandra Medine Cohen. She has a completely different style to me, in that she is experimental, colourful and quirky and I am definitely more minimal and classic. However, her style just speaks to me.

When I was younger, I was definitely more experimental. I went to fashion college so it was a given that I was going to play around with my looks. Much to my mothers dismay! However, as I got older, my style has evolved with me. I still have that playful side and still sometimes gravitate towards the ‘Leandra’ style of dressing. But my wardrobe has become more practical and minimal. Colours have been replaced with black, greys and neutrals and prints only feature once in a while. This is more me. I love this style. But a piece of me still craves that eclectic style that I know is in me.
This can be hard to manage and is often when people get confused with what their style is. If we all love a multitude of different looks, then how can we possibly hone in on what our own individual style is?
Well let me explain.
