A little December announcement.
Hello my lovely Substack friends, it is 2nd December and we have officially started the countdown to Christmas. Slowly I’m seeing Christmas trees being carried into neighbours houses, the twinkling lights start to appear and decorations being put up around town. Personally, I feel it’s far too early to be putting up the Christmas tree, but I get why people are doing it so early this year. I feel we all need some Xmas cheer at the moment.
It’s my birthday on 15th December and we have made it a tradition to always put the tree up around then. So for me, putting the tree up now seems so early. Also, I have barely started my Christmas shopping. I’ve just been so busy and don’t seem to have the time to do anything at the moment, so it just doesn’t feel very Christmassy in my household yet.
My back procedure a few weeks ago went well but I am still in some pain and the recovery of the sedation has been a struggle to say the least. I am a bit of a worrier, a procrastinator and I hate to say it, a people pleaser. I struggle with saying no to things and as such I have a lot of events in my diary that are going to be taking over most of the coming weeks. I also want to take a leaf out of my own book (literally) and go through my wardrobe, sort it all out, look at outfit options and try on everything to make sure it all still fits etc. I will be following my own advice from my book The Forever Wardrobe. I want to ensure I start the new year fresh and ready.
If this is something you think you can benefit from too, then my book is under £12 and has glowing reviews.
So, that being said, I’m having a bit of a panic about when I’m going to get everything done. It seems that something has to give. And that thing is going to have to be my beloved Substack newsletter and I have decided to take a few weeks break.
Therefore, for the month of December, I am pausing all payments so that I can have some time to get myself in order, do the Christmas shopping, go to all the events that I have committed to, and get myself ready for 2025.
For those that have paid for a yearly subscription, don’t worry, you won’t lose any months. You will receive an extra month at the end of the billing cycle.
I want to make 2025 the year of The Fashion Journal and I am planning bigger and better things each month when I return. I’m excited and I hope you’ll stick with me until then. I’ll be back with my first newsletter of 2025 on 6th January.
Your subscriptions have meant the world to me this past year. By supporting a freelancer in their creative work, you are helping me continue in this weird and wonderful world of social media.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sticking with me and supporting me.
I’ll still be over on Instagram over the next month so if you want to DM me, please feel free to.
Can’t wait to see you here in 2025. I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year.
All my love
